Education and Experience Requirements: Depending on the combination of education

and work experience, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

BS or higher degree in engineering or technology: Requires 1 year of experience in the in-service inspection of piping systems.

2-year degree or certificate in engineering or technology: Requires 2 years of

experience in the in-service inspection of piping systems.

High school diploma or equivalent: Requires 3 years of experience in the in-service inspection of piping systems.

No formal education: Requires 5 years of experience in the in-service inspection of piping systems.

Training: Completion of API 570 training courses is recommended but not required.
